Promotion of psycho-oncological continuing education

Psychosocial Oncology - Interdisciplinary Curriculum (WPO-IC)

The FFBT supports Ms. Tedesco, psychologist at the Children's Palliative Care Team in South Hesse, in her further training in psychosocial oncology. With this qualification, she is expanding her professional expertise to include the Interdisciplinary Curriculum in Psychosocial Oncology (WPO-IC).

The training is offered by the Association for Continuing Education and Psychosocial Oncology (Verein für Fort- und Weiterbildung Psychosoziale Onkologie e.V.) in cooperation with the German Cancer Society (DKG) and comprises 132 training units spread over seven course blocks. It concludes with a certificate from the DKG and meets the psycho-oncological quality requirements of the S3 guideline. Contents include psycho-oncological diagnostics and interventions, couple and family work, dealing with children of parents with cancer, as well as palliative care, dying, death, and grief.
